Anything and everything.

HEY EVERYBODY! Tons has happened since last time I wrote on here. Kinda crazy.

Well last month my ward had a talent show and my roomates and I thought it would be a good idea to do something sweet to show everybody that we arent guys that think theyre better than everybody else.  We chose to learn the "Bye bye bye" dance by the 90's boy band N'sync.  We practiced this dance every single night for a week and I am freakin happy to say that we nailed it. It was awesome and probably the thing i'll talk about when im 40 and reminiscing about freshman year.  In ESPN's words, it is a definite "Instant Classic."

Whats that holiday that I do not particularly enjoy? Oh yeah....HALLOWEEN. For our halloween festivities we(Jon, Dee, and I) decided to find the dance parties and hit em up like every other dance-krazy BYU student but first needed some costumes. After much prayer and consideration we decided to bring out the inner hero in us. Jon was Aqua-man, Dee was Batman, and I was Superman. After a quick fashion show, we chose to go to take our Heroes to a dance at a local apt. complex which basically turned into the biggest game of sardines ever. Freakin people everywhere you looked which sadly, did not support my notion of showin off my dance moves to all the Chicas. We went home dissapointed and recooped for the next night. On Saturday night we decided to stay conservative and got o the stake dance to try and find some cuties. My dear friend Chloe Hyde, one who will be mentioned later in this blog, decided that her dance moves were too good for us and declined what ended up being the BEST HALLOWEEN DANCE EVER. She missed out. Also at the dance, we suggested "Bye bye bye" and impressed some girls (and guys...true story). Halloween was 65% of a success. 50% for the stake dance, and 15% for our SICK costumes.

Another sweet thing that i've had the chance to be a part of is water polo every Saturday. We pretty much scrimmage for 2 hours and kill ourselves because were so out of shape. Even though the team is all returned missionaries, we have some pretty good talent, pretty much all guys from California. Last Saturday we went up to Park City and scrimmaged University of Utah in what was supposed to be a friendly match. We ended up losing the game by 6 because our goalie sucks and we have 2 guys that have never played before. To say the least, I was pretty freakin mad. We better beat em next time.

Now... school sucks. We try to good for the fun in everything. Oh! So Chloe Hyde, the girl previously mentioned above, just became the new Miss South Jordan. Bravo to her. On a sad note, my sister is moving up to Idaho after fall with her husband, Andrew. So now Dee and Jackie are leaving me. losers. Cant I just go and serve my mission yet? School should be interesting next semester with my classes and all. Just to see whos read this, say "pickles dont have wings" and i'll give you a hug.

Kool.

p90x

I know its been a while... sorry. So for the past few weeks my roomates and I have been doin p90x!! We struggled getting started because 1) Its about an hour a day during the middle of all our homework and studying, 2) We didnt have the correct weights or space to actually do the workouts. But we finally got goin and its been really fun! I like the chest and back workouts the most but they are killer between the leg, shoulder, arms, plyometrics, and yoga.  I havent seen big results but were gettin there... haha

Classes have been goin pretty good. I would say that my missionary prep class by Prof. Wilcox is easily my favorite because he is such a great teacher and I know I will be able to use this stuff when I go on my mission!!!! Ive been thinkin alot about my mission lately because i know a bunch of guys gettin theirs and it makes me realllllllyyyyy jealous. I lay in bed at night wondering where ill go, what language ill be speaking, and what kind of people will I teach. all i can say is that I can turn in my mission papers 5 months from today. SO FREAKING PUMPED.

Recently we have had a blast in our dorm by messing with eachother. Jon and Alex are constantly trying to "prank" eachother and just tonight Alex changed Jon's name to Frogman Buttcakes Mcfingerlickin and Jon countered with posting a picture of Alex with 2 inch corn-rows. It was probably the funniest picture ever. Besides those doofs, as a dorm we all decided to embrace our younger selves and watch POKEMON from the good ole days.  We are on episode 6 :) Its hilarious to watch it now because we still know all the classic pokemon and our favorites.  Also we love to laugh at the cheesiness of the classic 1999 show.

BYU FOOTBALL couldnt be worse this year, proving that I can never belong to a winning team. Jake Heaps, the true freshman QB, has a rocket of an arm but only has two people to throw to. JJ DiLuigi is the RB but struggles to gain yards because he's 5' 10" and tiny compared to the defense. BYU's defense also has problems containing and reading the option, as well as the pass. All together, BYU needs to step it up and get some ice in their veins because as of right now, they suck.

I miss Mom's food.
I hate having a hurt knee.
Lastly, Id like to make a shout out to Chlourden. :)

Intramurals

Alright so for the Fall semester I decided to get in touch with my younger self and join a intramural soccer team.  After practicing this past weekend and juggling the ball to help bring back the good ole days, things started to come back! Our team, the Rebels( My roommate, Jon, is from Vegas and for some odd reason likes the UNLV Rebels.) had our first game tonight and OWNED after a bumpy start. The final score was 4-1 in favor of us and by the end my skills weren't too bad although I could quickly feel the aches and pains of running around for 45 minutes.  Now that it's over I really am anxious to play our next game! I forgot how much I missed competitive soccer with real Referees and legit goals.  I will keep you posted on how we do throughout our short, but exciting season!

BYU

Alright well I don't really know any of you and I don't know if you've ever been to a BYU Football game but its completely insane in the student section.  My voice now sounds like a scratchy chicken and my feet hurt as if I had just run a marathon (not that I've ever ran a marathon.) In the end, BYU was the victor after some tough defensive stands and key plays on offense. My first BYU Football experience was indeed a splendid one. Cant wait for the next game!
